227 Ukrainians are still imprisoned in Donbas region by invaders, - Security Service of Ukraine

The Security Service also stated the work on the release of other citizens of Ukraine is continuing

227 Ukrainians are still detained and imprisoned on the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The press service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reported that on its Facebook.

"The Service's work on the release of Ukrainian citizens is still continuing, as only 227 Ukrainians are illegally arrested on the ORDLO territories," the SSU stated.

It is also noted that 3280 Ukrainians came back to their families and relatives due to work of the Security Service from the Russian Federation. 

As we reported earlier, 24 Ukrainian sailors and 11 political prisoners captured by Russia over the past five years, had returned to Ukraine. 

The plane with the released Ukrainians from the Russian Federation landed in Boryspil international airport and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky personally was greeting the ex-captives. 

Minister of the Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, Head of the State Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Serhiy Yarovyi, Minister of Defense Andriy Zahorodniuk and Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka also arrived at the airport.
