2020 local elections: Votes counted at over 91% of district election committees

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved a new date of upcoming local elections

Over 91% of the district election committees have finished the vote count at the local elections as the Central Election Committee reported.

“According to the information received by the Secretariat of the Central Election Committee, as of 12:00 p.m., October 27, 2020, almost 26,700 district election committees, that make over 91% from the overall number of created district election committees, have finished the vote count, compiled the protocols and pass all electoral documentation to proper the territorial election commissions,” the message said.

It is noted that the vote count is completely finished in six regions: Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Sumy, Khmelnytsk and Chernivtsi region.

On October 25, the local elections took place at all levels in Ukraine for the first time ever. The citizens voted for the representatives in the local and regional councils and heads of village and city councils.

According to the Central Election Commission, the voter turnout at this year’s local elections was 36.88%.
