“The Public Health Center of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine has already delivered almost 20,000 antiseptics and 190,000 medical masks for Hasidic pilgrims to Uman,” the statement said.
It is noted that in addition to security and anti-epidemic measures, the city is also actively vaccinating to create a safe environment. In total, the city covers more than 30% of the population with at least one vaccination shot against Covid-19.
“We have also tightened epidemic standards, built clear routes for cross-border testing and, with the support of international partners, deployed additional testing and health monitoring sites in Uman itself,” the Ministry of Healthcare added.
Red Cross tents were also set up for pilgrims, so they can receive personal protective equipment, information materials and consultations. The main and reserve beds were also deployed for treatment in case of a need for urgent medical care.
As it was reported earlier, joint detachment of more than 600 police officers will guard order in Uman during Rosh Hashanah.
