About 20 armed men wearing balaclavas entered the territory of grain warehouse in Metanivka village in Vinnytsia Oblast and started shooting, one person got wounded. Police are negotiating with gunmen. This was reported by the press service of police in Vinnytsia region.

On May 31 about 20 gunmen wearing balaclavas stormed a grain storage facility in Metanivka village and opened fire, as a result of which one person got abdominal injury and was hospitalized. 

"According to preliminary information, the conflict arose between a tenant farmer renting land units and unknown strangers using force. Police blocked the scene and ceased unlawful acts. Some people have already laid down their arms after negotiations, talks with the rest continue. Situation is controlled. Investigation and operational group, patrol police and special forces are working at the scene," the message reads.

Legal assessment of the actions of all parties to the conflict will be given during pre-trial investigation.

Later Serhiy Knyazev, Chief of Ukrainian National Police, reported on Facebook that police detained 42 armed people, 6 persons got injured. He confirmed information about one 45-year-old citizen who received wound to the abdomen, adding that 5 more got injured, but refused to go to the hospital.

He noted that raiders tried to take over farm business, the fight started between local residents and intruders. Police also seized weapons.
