Late in the night of July 30, a 19-year-old Ukrainian serviceman of the National Guard killed himself in the Donbas conflict zone, as reported by UNIAN, linking to the Zaporizhia military recruitment service.
According to the message, the soldier served in the 3029th military unit, which is located in Zaporizhia, and is currently serving in the Donbas conflict zone. The military unit informed that they had already started the investigation on the incident.
The military unit representative also said that according to the other soldiers, the tragedy happened in the evening. The soldier put on his new uniform and shot himself with a machine gun. They also said the soldier was a calm person, and didn’t have conflicts with his relatives or colleagues.
The National Guard soldiers also assure that the deceased participated in the Blue Whale – a group of people potentially ready for a suicide, which is popular on one of the social networks. They believe it could be the reason of the suicide.
It’s worth mentioning, that these “death groups” are mostly working through Vkontakte social network, and they target teens. It begins with the administrators giving the participants a pain-involving “assignment”, like cutting the arms with a razorblade, while filming that. The ultimate goal of the “game” is to make the teenagers commit suicide, which is also supposed to be filmed.
