1,7 mln cyberattacks carried out on Ukraine's state agencies during six months

Ukraine's special agency stopped more than 400 attacks via the network, almost a third were from Russia

The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (SSSCIP) blocked 1,7 million cyberattacks against government agencies in six months. The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine reports this on its Telegram channel.

It is reported that in the first half of 2021, the SSSCIP specialists blocked 1,7 million cyberattacks on government agencies; recorded more than 50 million suspicious actions through the system for identifying vulnerabilities and responding to cyber incidents; registered and processed about 100 thousand cyber incidents; suppressed more than 400 attacks on government agencies. Of these, 26% were committed using Russian IP addresses.

"According to a study by Accenture, only 17% of global companies can actively resist cyber threats, so most companies invest in cybersecurity departments. Today, information security worries many Ukrainians. Therefore, the Ministry of Digital Transformation is working to maximize the safety of users in the digital world," the ministry pointed.

As it was reported earlier, the Ukrainian President's website and the Security Service were hacked.
