12 people die on roads in Ukraine on January 1

On January 1, at around 11 am Opel and Mazda crashed in Mykolaiv region. Eight people died as a result, two more were wounded

12 people died on the roads of Ukraine on January 1, as Volodymyr Omelyan, the Infrastructure Minister, reported on Facebook.

“Over the first day of the new year 12 people died in car accidents! Around ten people were injured. Driving on the wrong side, frontal impact and traffic violations were the reasons of the accidents. Road if like a war, it never forgives mistakes,” the Minister wrote.

As 112 Ukraine reported, on January 1, at around 11 am Opel and Mazda crashed in Mykolaiv region. Eight people died as a result, two more were wounded.

At around 4 pm another car accident occurred in Vinnytsia region, when three people died, as regional police reported.

The driver of Ford Mondeo swerved into oncoming traffic, where it collapsed with another car.

A 59-year-old driver and its passengers died. Two more people survived. They were hospitalized.
