11,833 new Covid-19 cases in Ukraine in 24 hours

During the past 24 hours, on March 16, 11,833 people got infected with the coronavirus. Particularly, 609 children and 388 medics as Health Minister Maksym Stepanov reported on Facebook.

Besides, in 24 hours 4,887 people were hospitalized; 289 lethal cases reported; 5,467 people recovered; 121,144 tests were held.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,489,023 people infected; 1,237,676 patients recovered; 28,986 died; 7,467,108 PCR tests were held.

Kyiv – 1,121 cases; Vinnytsia region – 750; Volyn region – 239; Dnipropetrovsk region – 539 cases; Donetsk region – 373 cases; Zhytomyr region – 482 cases; Zakarpattia region – 557 cases; Zaporizhia region – 348 cases; Ivano-Frankivsk region – 506 cases; Kyiv region – 630 cases; Kyrovohrad region – 112 cases; Luhansk region – 110 cases; Lviv region – 884 cases; Mykolaiv region – 452 cases; Odesa region – 883 cases; Poltava region – 265 cases; Rivne region – 433 cases; Sumy region – 283 cases; Ternopil region – 485 cases; Kharkiv region – 750 cases; Kherson region – 66 cases; Khmelnytsk region – 703 cases; Cherkasy region – 297 cases; Chernivtsi region – 481 cases; Chernihiv region – 84 cases.

On March 16, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated that currently, Ukraine has the lowest rate of mortality from coronavirus in Europe. As of today, Ukraine occupies 36th place on the death rate in Europe. The mortality rate in the UK is three times higher than in Ukraine. In France, Poland, and Italy, the death rate is higher than in Ukraine twice.
