117 Ukrainian settlements left without power

117 settlements are left without power in Ukraine due to the bad weather conditions on July 25, as the press office of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reports.

“On July 25 as a result of bad weather conditions (hailstorm, thunderstorm, wind gusts) the protection system of the transmission lines activated and 117 settlements in seven regions were left without power supply. In particular, 30 settlements in Zaporizhia region, 24 in Dnipro, 20 in Zhytomyr, 14 in Kyiv, 13 in Donetsk, 12 in Luhansk, and 4 in Kirovograd region,” the message says.

The teams of the regional power distribution company are working to restore the power supply.

Reportedly, a heavy rain, thunderstorm, and hail were in Kyiv on Wednesday. Some of the streets turned to ‘river’ and caused traffic jams downtown. Users of social networks were sharing their impressions on happenings. The drivers were recommended to not travel by own cars. It should be noted that the bad weather mostly affected Kyiv’s right bank.

Moreover, due to the inclement weather conditions, a bridge partially collapsed on the corner of Kyrylivska and Telihy streets on Wednesday.

Kyiv City State Administration Emergency Control dispatched water pumps to Dorohozhychi area and Dehtiarivska Street due to the flood of the streets after the rain.
