One soldier died, five more were injured in military drills at one of the firing ranges in Kyiv oblast, as the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported on their Facebook page.
The General Staff informed that an artillery shell blew up. The injured suffered from wounds of varying degrees of severity.
“The injured received first aid; they were evacuated to a hospital. A commission and law enforcement representatives are working on the site, in order to determine the cause and circumstance of the emergency,” the message says.
Later on, the press secretary of Ukraine’s Land Armed Forces Ivan Arefiev, during a 112.UA Channel broadcast, chose not to name the firing range, where the emergency happened.
“We aren’t ready to speak about the firing range, as the commission and law enforcement have to conduct a proper investigation of the situation at the range, which is near Kyiv oblast… I can say that representatives of Land Forces commanders, chief of the artillery and commission are working there”.
