President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky accepted the invitation from his French colleague Emmanuel Macron to visit Paris. It was stated after the meeting of the Head of State with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian, which took place on May 31 in Kyiv. The press service of the President reports this.
According to the report, Zelensky thanked France for the consistent support for sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that the solidarity of France with Ukraine as a partner in the Normandy format and in various international groups and organizations was essential for maintaining security and defending the norms and principles of international law on the continent.
“The parties paid considerable attention to the further enhancement of bilateral political dialogue and strengthening of cooperation between Ukraine and France, in particular in trade and economic sphere,” the report said.
Zelensky outlined many interesting common projects that are being implemented in Ukraine, in particular, those aimed at socio-economic recovery of the eastern regions of the country (for example, the renovation of the water supply system in Mariupol).
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Margot Wallström.
