The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has not yet determined in what format he will take part in the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York at the end of September - online or offline. The press secretary of the head of state Serhiy Nykyforov declared it on air of the Dom TV channel, Ukrinform reports.
“He will make a decision based on expediency. After all, to spend a lot of time - a day there, a day back on a flight - to stand on the UN rostrum? Surely not. There must be some benefit. If the benefit - some agreements, some meetings, signing some documents - justifies this waste of time, the president will decide to fly,” Nykyforov said.
However, Zelensky may refuse to visit New York if it is just a ceremonial trip.
According to the spokesman, the probability that the president will fly to the United States again is about 50/50
During his speech at the General Assembly, Zelensky, in particular, will touch upon the topic of the Crimean platform. The UN includes 193 countries, and each of them can join the declaration signed at the summit of the Crimean platform on August 23.
As it was reported, on September 23-26, 2019, Zelensky paid a working visit to the United States and took part in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
