US Congressional Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland is being interrogated in Congress as part of the impeachment inquiry of US President Donald Trump, AP agency reports.

US Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland is a key figure in the investigation. Ambassador Sondland is set to testify today, on October 8.

It is also reported that former US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch is being examined. Her interrogation will take place on October 11.

As we reported earlier, the US House of Representatives has sent a request to the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the Office of the Presidential Administration for providing documents related to Donald Trump's decision to suspend financial assistance to Ukraine for military needs.

It is worth mentioning that the texts of the electronic correspondence of American diplomats indicate that the Department of State demanded from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to make a statement on interference in the US elections in 2016. The text of the messages was published by the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs.
