Over the last three years, more and more Ukrainians have been traveling abroad. Oleg Slobodyan, the assistant head of the State Border Guard said that in his commentary for 112 Ukraine TV channel.
According to Slobodyan, in 2015, over 23 million Ukrainian citizens crossed the border leaving the country; in 2016, the number became 25 million. Most of the citizens cross the border using cars, and only 17 percent of passengers use aircraft; last year, the number of those increased to 3.6 million people.
The priority directions for most Ukrainian citizens are Poland, Russia, Hungary and Slovakia. According to the State Border Guard, over 4.4 million people crossed the Ukraine-Russia border.
The EU-Ukraine visa-free regime has been effective since June 2017. Over 400,000 Ukrainians have already enjoyed the benefits.
