Ukraine welcomes the EU’s readiness to join the restoration of the released territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine, wrote on Facebook.

“At the EU-Ukraine Summit, we have agreed to launch my initiative on "patronage" by interested EU member states over selected cities and areas of these territories for the implementation of targeted assistance projects on infrastructure restoration, economic development, and ensuring communities’ normal livelihoods,” the Head of the State wrote.

Earlier, Ukraine-EU Summit took place in Brussels on June 9. The joint statement, made to conclude the Summit, says that the European Union condemns Russia’s aggression and urges Moscow to release the Ukrainian political prisoners.
