Ukraine sent more than 38 tons of humanitarian aid to Lithuania; the barbed wire was delivered to this country amidst the ongoing migration crisis and complicated situation on the border with Belarus. Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that on Twitter.
"Ukraine sent Lithuanian Republic humanitarian aid for its needs in the matters of security. (...) The assistance will be instrumental in boosting the protection of borders from illegal migrants", reads the message.
In 2021, Lithuanian state border guards have detained more than 2,000 illegal migrants who came from Belarus. On July 2, the Lithuanian government announced the nation-wide emergency mode, as the migrant flow from the neighboring country increased.
