By the middle of the year, Ukraine and Romania will have opened new border checkpoints. Romanian foreign minister Teodor Melescanu said that at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin. The meeting took place in Chernivtsi, western Ukraine.
‘We discussed the opening of these checkpoints. Diakivtsi-Racovat and Krasnoilsk-Vicovu de Sus checkpoints are to be opened in the first half of 2018,’ Melescanu said adding that the Romanian side prepared the checkpoints.
Currently, Ukraine and Romania have nine common checkpoints – two on the ground, four on the railway and another three on the river.
