Ukraine does not interfere in the internal affairs of Serbia and does not accept attempts by some Serbian politicians to do the same regarding its own affairs. This statement, published on the diplomatic website, was made by the Embassy of Ukraine in Serbia.

Such a reaction was caused by the words of the mayor of Voždovac, Aleksandar Savić, who mentioned the "Ukrainian scenario" in a negative light while speaking about the current protests in Serbia.

"The Embassy of Ukraine in Serbia once again officially states that Ukraine does not interfere in the internal political situation in the Republic of Serbia in any way. At the same time, the embassy considers unacceptable attempts to interfere in Ukraine's internal affairs, in particular, to share negative public assessments of the conscious European choice made by the Ukrainian people by any foreign officials - including the mayor of Voždovac," the statement said.

The embassy reminded Aleksandar Savić that what he contemptuously called the "Ukrainian scenario" was Ukrainians' fight for their rights against a corrupt authoritarian government. This is the European choice of most Ukrainians, for which they paid a high price.

As we reported earlier, in the Far East of the Russian Federation, in Khabarovsk, thousands of protests were held against the detention of the regional governor.
