Ukraine's law "On Education" will not be altered just because Hungary demands to change it. Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said so at a TV show on Thursday night.
"We deny any demands of our Hungarian partners about extra changes in the law "On Education". We will not be changing the principles put in the law "On Education" just to please someone else. We have one state language in our country", he stated.
Kuleba also said his recent visit to Hungary was supposed to fix the bilateral relations of the two countries and to unblock the session of Ukraine-NATO committee that is currently blocked by the Hungarian side.
Previously, Kuleba denied the information about intended creation of "Hungarian" district in Ukraine's westernmost Zakarpattya region.
Earlier, we reported that the authorities of Zakarpattya region intend to create a separate area with the centre in Berehove, where Hungarians make the most part of the local population. This is mentioned in the joint statement of the regional NGOs, released on the Zakarpattya online website.
Those who signed the statement claim that such actions of the government create a threat for Ukraine's territorial integrity, and also make an international provocation.
