Seven Ukrainians, were detained in Britain on suspicion of illegal immigration. This is reported by Ipswich Star.

They were noticed after their yacht ran aground on the coast in Suffolk County on Sunday, April 30.

The yacht sent a distress signal. Rescuers arrived at the place. It is noted that there was a language barrier, but in the end a tug came and brought a sailboat to Orford. The Coast Guard and the border guard service have already arrived there.

The detainees were taken to the local police station.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the detention of seven Ukrainians who tried to illegally cross the border of Britain. This is reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in the UK.

"The British Border Guards have confirmed the detention 7 citizens of Ukraine near Orford during the illegal crossing of the GB border," stated in the message.

The diplomats also note that the embassy is taking measures for consular support of this incident with the aim of protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens.
