President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and German Minister of Foreign Affairs Sigmar Gabriel discussed military escalation in Avdiivka and state of Minsk agreement implementation during bilateral meeting in Germany. This was reported by the presidential press-service.
According to the message, the interlocutors discussed situation in Donbas, Poroshenko in this regard expressed concern with flagrant ceasefire violations by Russian militants, including the ones in Avdiivka area. They also spoke of the state of Minsk agreement implementation, first of all in terms of security.
Ukrainian President stressed the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russian Federation, until Moscow fully meets its commitments regarding Minsk agreement and until sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine including Crimea is restored.
Poroshenko congratulated Gabriel on the entry into office of the Head of the Foreign Department of Germany and invited the minister to visit Ukraine.
