Fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko backed demonstrations in central Kyiv against the Steinmeier formula. This was stated in the video on Poroshenko's Facebook page.

"We (Poroshenko on behalf of European Solidarity - ed.) strongly emphasize that we will never go for it (signing the Steinmeier formula - ed.). We stand in solidarity with the actions and appeals that are heard today among veterans, and we will not allow Ukraine to be destroyed”.

According to him, signing of this formula, in fact, means derogation or dismissal of sanctions against the Russian Federation, the legitimization of the Russian occupation of Donbas, illegal referendum of Crimea and illegal annexation of Crimea.

"European Solidarity would like to state that Steinmeier formula does not exist as a part of the Minsk agreements. You won't find any mention of it there," Poroshenko said.
