Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine signed a decree concerning the enforcement of the right of the citizens of Ukraine for visa-free entry to EU. He claimed this during the opening of the Istanbul Park in Odesa that was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.
‘My schedule formed in such way that I should sign the decree concerning the enforcement of the right of the citizens of Ukraine for visa-free entry to EU in Odesa. I will sign the decree where the steps to implement and people who should do this are exactly pointed. It will clear away the obstacles on the way for the visa-free regime ’, he said.
The signing ceremony of legislative decision to grant visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens by the European Union was held in Strasbourg on May 17. It will come into force on June 11.
The decree allows Ukrainian people to travel to all countries of Schengen Area, except for Ireland and the United Kingdom. Beyond that, Ukrainians will be able to visit four countries outside the EU: Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
