In the framework of the official visit to Portugal, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Prime Minister of Portugal António Costa, according to the press service of Ukraine’s President.
The parties agreed there are possibilities to increase trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Portugal. In this context, the prospects for implementing joint projects in various spheres were discussed.
The President of Ukraine noted that during 9 months of 2017, trade between Ukraine and Portugal had increased by more than a third.
The Presidents also agreed to intensify the work of the Bilateral Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial and Technical Cooperation and hold its next meeting in 2018.
They noted that signing the Agreement on Economic Cooperation would create the necessary conditions for further development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.
The parties agreed to intensify cooperation in energy, shipbuilding, aviation, as well as culture and tourism.
They also agreed to resume regular direct flights between Kyiv and Lisbon.
