Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko interrupted his working visit to Germany due to shelling in Avdiivka, which led to emergency. This was reported by Svyatoslav Tsegolko, spokesman for the head of state, in his commentary to “Interfax Ukraine”.

“President interrupted his visit to Germany due to shelling of Avdiivka by the Russian militants, which led to the emergency, verging on humanitarian catastrophe,” Tsegolko reported.

At the same time, Petro Poroshenko and Angela Merkel have agreed to meet later in Normandy format (Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia) in order to settle conflict in Donbas. This was reported by the deputy head of the Presidential Administration. The official also added that the interlocutors to engage representatives of the US administration to the negotiation process regarding Donbas.

As it was reported earlier, Avdiivka was left without water, electricity and heat as the Donetsk filtration plant and Avdiivka coke plant blacked out.
