US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo claimed that Washington wants to strengthen relations with Kyiv and help President Volodymyr Zelensky eradicate corruption in Ukraine. Pompeo said this during a press briefing in New York at the 74th UN General Assembly, Ukrinform reports.

"We want to use it in order to improve relations between the United States and Ukraine, to increase opportunities, to strengthen our co-operation, to help eradicate corruption in Ukraine", - the US Secretary of State.

Pompeo drew attention to the importance of fighting corruption for Zelensky. The US Secretary of State expressed his hope that his country would assist the Ukrainian president in achieving this goal.
