Since the EU-Ukraine visa-free regime was introduced, over 500,000 Ukrainians have traveled across the EU visa-free; only 21,000 of these used their biometric passports. The State Border Guard reported that on Monday, June 19.
One-third of the travelers used the passenger aircraft to cross the EU border, the rest proceeded through the border checkpoints using vehicles – mostly on state border with Poland and Hungary.
On June 11, the EU-Ukraine visa-free regime took effect; from now on, Ukrainian citizens only need their biometric IDs to travel across 30 EU member countries. They can stay there up to 90 days during the 180-days-long period.
