‘As at 6:00 on June 16 almost 315 thousand of citizens of Ukraine crossed the border with EU countries since the visa-free regime came into force. More than 63 thousand of Ukrainians used the biometric passports during the trips. 8 690 of Ukrainians used the visa-free regime advantages to cross the border having only the biometric passport’, the message reports.
1950 citizens of Ukraine, and it is 22%, crossed the border via air transport. Other people used the railway and crossed the border via automobile checkpoints on the border with EU, mostly with Poland.
’16 citizens of Ukraine were banned from entry during the crossing of the border since the visa-free regime was implemented. Mostly due to the violation of the migration legislation of EU country during the previous visit’, the message adds.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that more than 6 thousand of the Ukrainians crossed the border with EU on June 15.
The Ukrainian citizens, who have a biometric passport, can visit 30 European countries without visas: all EU countries except for UK and Ireland, as well as Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway. Ukrainians can stay there up to 90 days during each period of 180 days.
A person should have a biometric passport; return ticket, insurance and money to travel. If a person has the invitation, then it is enough to have the e-mail with the data of the host person.
