The judges of The Hague District Court received part of the indictment of the International Investigation Group in the case of a Boeing 777 shot down over Ukraine on July 17, 2014. This was stated by the representative of the court, Deutsche Welle reported.

Due to the fact that most of the 298 dead passengers were citizens of the Netherlands, the authorities decided that the process would be considered under national rather than international legislation.

According to the NL Times, three judges from the Hague District Court will hear the case. The general judicial board will consist of five judges - three permanent, and two deputies. Hendrick Stenhuis will chair the trial. Due to the public interest, court hearings were moved from the Hague District Courthouse to the Legal Complex near Schiphol Airport.
