German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to fulfill the political commitments on the implementation of Minsk agreements. It is reported by Reuters, citing German government speaker.
A telephone conversation took place between the parties today, on 17 September.
"The chancellor has expressed the view that the next few weeks should be used for the decisive step forward", - said the speaker.
According to her, during a conversation of Poroshenko Merkel said that it is important that Russia and Ukraine would demonstrate the political will to reach an agreement.
Note that the AP report on a telephone conversation there is no information about the Merkel's appeal. Press Service reported that the sides "discussed the situation on security" in Donbas, and Poroshenko stressed the need for a full cease-fire by the Russian militants and the need to release all the hostages.
Earlier Foreign Ministers of Germany and France called to approve the special status of Donbas, the elections in the occupied territories and amnesty for militants.
