"Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel will arrive in Kyiv. She will have a meeting with president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky", reads the message.
The preliminary date of the visit is August 22; there has been no confirmed information about the agenda. However, the outlet assumes it could be Nord Stream 2, which is supposed to be ready.
In early July, Zelensky came to Germany with a working visit, during which he met with Merkel. The two politicians discussed the launch of Nord Stream 2, Germany's role in the Normandy Format and bringing peace to Donbas.
Last month, the U.S. and Germany made a joint statement in support of Ukraine, European energy security, and climate goals on the results of the talks on prospects of the launch of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
The same day, Ukraine initiated consultations with the European Commission and Germany regarding the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which threatens the security of Ukraine and violates the principles of diversification of the EU Energy Union.
