Lithuanian Interior Minister comes with visit to Kyiv

The forthcoming visit aimed at enhancing the bilateral cooperation between Lithuanian and Ukrainian Interior Ministries

Lithuanian Minister of the Interior Saulius Skvernelis comes with 2-day visit to Kyiv on October 19, where he will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Arsen Avakov and representatives of the National Guard and National Police of Ukraine, the press service of Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania reports.

"The purpose of the visit is strengthening of ties between police and law enforcement authorities of Lithuania and Ukraine for further development of bilateral cooperation and exchange of experiences in the implementation of European and international democratic standards by the Interior Ministry of Ukraine and other executive authorities controlled by the Ministry," the Lithuanian Interior Ministry stated.

During the two-day visit to Kyiv Skvernelis is going to visit Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and meet with Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov and deputy head of the Presidential Administration, responsible for relations with law enforcement agencies, Andriy Taranov.

Earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius said that Lithuania will continue to provide expert assistance to Ukraine in the process of reforms implementation.
