Today, the largest military drills 'Noble Partner 2017' with the participation of five countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) began in Georgia, at the military base 'Vaziani' in the suburbs of Tbilisi. This is reported by Georgia Online.

According to Georgian Defense Minister Levan Isoria, the purpose of the exercises is to "increase the compatibility" of the Georgian army with the troops of the North Atlantic Alliance countries, as well as the training of the Georgian unit for the NATO Response Force.

It is reported that, in addition to the five NATO member countries, three states-partners of the North Atlantic Alliance, in particular, units of the armies of the United States, Britain, Slovenia, Germany and Turkey, participate in the military exercises. And three states, NATO partners - Georgia, Ukraine and Armenia - also participate. It is noted that in the course of the exercises it is planned to involve 2 thousand 800 servicemen and dozens of units of military equipment.

The exercise will last until August 12, 2017.

"During the maneuvers American tanks M1A2, military transport aircraft, as well as various modifications of American and German armored vehicles will be involved ," said in a statement.
