Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, discussed the issue of visa liberalization and the preparations for the EU-Ukraine summit, which will take place on 24 November with EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and negotiations on expanding Johannes Hahn during a working visit to Brussels. It is reported by the government portal.
It is noted that Klympush-Tsintsadze with Hahn discussed "the whole range of topical issues of relations between Ukraine and the EU, as well as the implementation of reforms in Ukraine's European integration. In addition, the Ukrainian side has presented the results of the first phase of the system of e-declaration.
"EU Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the timely completion of the electronic declaration process in Ukraine, and stressed the EU's willingness to consider the provision of budget support in the implementation of public administration reform, anti-corruption reforms and to support Ukraine's efforts in migration management," reads the statement.
During the meeting the sides also discussed ways to complete the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze emphasized the importance of active cooperation between the EU institutions, the Government of the Netherlands and Ukraine to find a mutually acceptable solution on this issue.
When they talked about visa liberalization, Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the implementation by Ukraine of the Action Plan criteria and expressed hope for a speedy completion of the internal EU procedures for the introduction of visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.
Separately they discussed preparations for the EU-Ukraine Summit, which will take place in Brussels on November 24.
Also Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze met with EU Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström. This meeting was devoted to the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Ukraine and EU, as well as the implementation of relevant government economic reforms. In addition, they discussed the cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in countering the economic aggression of Russia.
