Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin took part in the 127th meeting of Committee of Ministers of the European Council at the level of Heads of Foreign Ministries, which took place in Nicosia, Cyprus, on May 19. This was reported by the press service of Ukrainian MFA.
"Ukrainian Foreign Minister informed colleagues about the decision, adopted by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine regarding imposition of separate restrictive measures (sanctions) against Russian companies working in the internet technology sphere in Ukraine, noting that such step is an answer to usage of separate Russian internet resources in hybrid war against Ukraine," press service informed.
Pavlo Klimkin also thanked the Council of Europe for the major program to support reforms in Ukraine.
As it was reported earlier, on May 16, 2017, President Petro Poroshenko signed the decree banning major Russian web portals and social networks in Ukraine; Yandex.ru, Vk.com, Odnoklassniki.ru users in Ukraine will lose their accounts and will have no access to the respective websites.
