Italy has allocated 1 million euros to support the victims of Donbas hostilities. This was stated by Italian Ambassador to Ukraine Davide La Cecilia, according to Ukrainian News.

"This year, Italy will help Ukraine. Italian Government and Italian Cooperation Agency has been allocated 1 million euros, which will go for the aid of people affected in the east of Ukraine", - he said.

It is reported that the funds were provided by World Food Programme of the United Nations (WFP) and UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) to support people affected by the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Thus, 700 thousand euros are provided for the distribution of food rations to the most vulnerable sections of the civilian population, who do not receive support from other humanitarian organizations. And 300 thousand euros were provided by UNICEF to fund humanitarian demining project - Children's and their families awareness program regarding the dangers of mines.
