"As soon as we learned of the severe natural disaster in the western regions of Ukraine, the Israeli embassy offered its assistance to the Ukrainian government. We have allocated 18,7 thousand dollars for the purchase of basic necessities, and after agreeing on the list of necessary items with the office of Prime Minister Denys Shmygal and the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, today we will deliver the necessary items to the most affected regions," Israel’s ambassador to Ukraine Joel Lion stated on June 29.
In particular, 25,000 1.5-liter bottles of drinking water were sent to the victims of the floods in Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions. Israel will also provide additional delivery of tents and sleeping bags to the affected regions.
As we reported earlier, according to Ukraine's Prime Minister, more than 250 Ukrainian settlements were affected as a result of floods in five regions.
"This week, Western Ukraine was swept by massive floods. As a result of bad weather, more than 250 settlements in five regions were affected," he wrote.
