The International Committee of the Red Cross directed 380 tons of humanitarian aid to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The press office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
‘21 trucks with humanitarian aid from the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Mission Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Family entered the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine through Novotroitske entry-exit checkpoint. More than 380 tons of humanitarian aid were issued in general, including food and hygiene kits,’ reads the message.
It is noted that the humanitarian convoy proceeded to the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk yesterday, November 23.
"Today the entry-exit checkpoint functions in the normal mode and opened according to the schedule of the autumn period,’ the SBGS summarized.
As we reported yesterday, On November 22, another Russian “humanitarian convoy” arrived in Donbas. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned this action.
It is noteworthy that the movement of “humanitarian convoys” of Russia is implemented with a blatant transgression of norms of international and Ukrainian legislation, as well as the modalities agreed upon with the International Committee of the Red Cross, therefore the Ukrainian interdepartmental group carries out only visual observation without performing control functions. Military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine notes that after each arrival of the “humanitarian convoy” of the Russian Federation in the area of the hostilities in Donbas, the firing activity of militants increases.
Heather Nauert, Spokesperson of U.S. Department of State claimed that the humanitarian convoys sent by Russia to the territory beyond Ukraine’s control which did not pass the check are illegal.
