President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky hopes that meeting with his American counterpart Donald Trump will be productive. He said this during a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in New York, the press service of the President reports.
"I think we will have a substantive, powerful meeting," Zelensky said, emphasizing that Ukraine needs US support.
The president also expressed his hope that the meeting in the Normandy format will be held in the near future. Zelensky hopes that it will be complex and address specific issues.
"We want to come out of this meeting with certain results about the specific terms of the end of the war and the return of our territories. We believe in it, we want it and will try to achieve it all," the head of state stated.
As we reported earlier, Zelensky is on a working visit to the United States to attend the 74th session of the UN General Assembly. In New York, the Ukrainian head of state is expected to make a speech during the general debate of the UN General Assembly session, as well as to attend the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit.
