Peter Szijarto, Hungary’s foreign minister, announced that the new Ukrainian law on education is “significantly violating the principles of Ukraine-EU Association Agreement. Szijarto said that during his meeting with the heads of organizations of the Zakarpattia Hungarians and the heads of the historic churches in Uzhgorod, Radio Svoboda reports.

“We can’t let this happen. The government of Hungary will stand against these Ukrainian steps in the strongest possible terms,” the Hungarian politician underlined. Peter Szijarto sees growing international pressure on Kyiv the only way to influence Kyiv.

According to Szijarto, he intends to initiate the review of the Agreement with Ukraine during the next session of the foreign ministers of the EU member-states in Luxemburg.
