Financial prosecution in France has begun investigation into the case regarding employment of the wife of Fillon, who is the French presidential candidate, according to Le Parisien.

The document provided by the publication listed charges of misappropriation of public funds, usage of public property and trading in influence.

It is noteworthy that François Fillon and his wife Penelope are accused of illegal acquisition of almost 1 million euro. Le Canard Enchaine announced that candidate’s wife earned almost 500 thousand euro working as husband’s assistant in parliament. However, it was impossible to find witnesses of Penelope Fillon’s activity as an assistant, according to the journalists.
