The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested David Correia, the fourth partner of Rudy Giuliani, US President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer. It is alleged that Correia may be related to Lutsenko’s case, Voice of America reports.
Correa is believed to be involved in the election campaign, and his name comes into the picture with American businessmen - native of Ukraine Lev Parnas, Andriy Kukushkin and native of Belarus Igor Fruman who were arrested last week.
They are suspected of "transferring funds from foreign sources to candidates at state and federal positions".
"However, Parnas and Fruman acted not only in their own interests but also in the interests of Ukrainian official, a member of the government of Ukraine who sought the release of US ambassador to Ukraine, "but his name is not called," the statement says.
It is worth noting that the law of the USA prohibits foreigners from donating funds to federal and local governments, and US citizens cannot do this on behalf of residents of other countries.
As we reported earlier, ex-Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko denies that he tried to influence the removal of former US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Jovanovic with the help of Giuliani associates Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman.
“Giuliani introduced me to them. We talked on common topics. I didn’t have any business relations with them,” the ex-Prosecutor General said.
