The issue of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU may be submitted to the European Parliament after November 7. At this time the negotiations between the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the European Commission will agree on a mechanism of suspension of the visa-free regime.
This was reported by Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Zerkal in the air of 5 TV Channel.
"If they find a compromise solution on November 7, the review of the mechanism for the suspension of the visa-free regime will appear on the agenda. We at the same time insist that our question was put to a meeting of the Permanent Representatives, that is the level of ambassadors of European Union states members, so that the decision was made the same way as for Georgia, before or after their elections now", said Zerkal.
She also noted that there is a struggle for power of individual countries and institutions in the European Union, which led to a tightening of the decision for Ukraine.
"There is a certain fatigue in the European Union member countries from the dictates of the European institutions. They believe that it’s better to address local problems within the country, than to obey the general approach of Brussels", Zerkal said.
According to her, one more question, which also causes irritation in countries, is that "the EU is actually run by bureaucrats, as they say, who are not elected officially”. At the same time, the politicians held elections and bear political responsibility. Zerkal noted "there is the absence of actual trust between EU member states and Brussels".
