European Commission approves allocation of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine

The organization plans to allocate two tranches, each amounting $568 million

The European Commission approved the allocation of the first tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine, as President Poroshenko said.

“I am sincerely grateful to the European Commission for a positive decision to allocate the first tranche of the fourth EU macro-financial assistance program for Ukraine in the amount of $568 million,” the Head of the State said.

He noted, in particular, the personal support of the President of the organization Jean-Claude Juncker and the Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis.

“The EU support is very important within the conditions of Russia’s recent aggression,” the President noted.

Earlier, the representatives of the EU assured that the martial law in Ukraine would not influence the allocations of the of macro-financial assistance.
