The actual liberalization of EU-Ukraine visa regime will take place in May. Rikard Jozwiak, the reporter of Radio Liberty in Brussels, tweeted that on Wednesday.
The text of the bill about the mechanism of the visa regime’s suspension is now being translated. The procedure will be complete by early February. The European Parliament is to vote for it on February 13 through 16; the European Council’s vote is expected ‘a bit later’, he wrote.
The date for consideration of the EU-Ukraine visa free regime decision has been constantly delayed. At first, the European Parliament planned to consider it on January 18, but then the date was moved to February 1. Later, the message mentioning April 2017 as the possible date showed up at the website of the European Parliament, but soon the officials refuted that, and the message was deleted.
