The European Union will support Ukraine if Ukraine follows democratic policy and progresses in reforming, as Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine, said at the press conference in Kyiv, broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.
“As long as Ukraine shows European, democratic policy, as long as Ukraine progresses in reforming, as long as it demonstrated responsible attitude to the enhancement of the defence aspect, I stress and I am convinced that the EU will find an opportunity to show a consolidated position,” Poroshenko said.
Earlier, the U.S. State Department Representative Heather Nauert urged Europe to provide more support for Ukraine and impose anti-Russian sanctions fully. Besides, the State Department informed that it condemns Russia’s attack at the Ukrainian sailors in Azov Sea. The U.S. President Donald Trump said that he canceled a scheduled meeting with Putin at G20 Summit in Argentina until Ukrainian sailors and vessels are returned to Ukraine.
