The President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė claimed that Vilnius would suggest imposing the additional sanctions on Russia, if the Russian Federation continues the aggression in Ukraine and in the Kerch Strait, as Delfi reports.
According to the President, if Russia continues the aggression in Ukraine, Lithuania will suggest new sanctions.
“If the events continue to turn bad and Russia does not stop the aggression, we will without any doubts suggest new sanctions”, - the Head of Lithuania said.
Grybauskaitė also outlined that next week the European Union is supposed to announce how many people should be added to the sanction list after the aggression in the Kerch Strait.
“I already know the names, but to comment on this information is too early”, - the President said.
On the question, whether there are enough names in the blacklist, she said “the aim of the sanction list is not the quantity. The aim of the sanctions is the claim that the EU sees what is happening and will not put up with this”, - Grybauskaitė added.
