First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv and Head of Support Group for Ukraine Peter Wagner signed two agreements on cooperation between the government of Ukraine and the EU as the press service of the government reported.
The agreement of the financing of the program on the technical cooperation of 2017 considers the provision of the support for the government by the EU to increase the potential of the public authorities towards the implementation o the Association Agreement and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU. According to the conditions recorded in the agreement, the financing of the number of the procedures on the adaptation of the Ukrainian legislation to the EU law is provided as well as the effective workout and implementation of the reforms.
According to the program, the technical support will be concentrated on the prioritized spheres such as state management, agriculture, land reform, support of private sector of the economy, healthcare system, culture and transport. The financing of the projects will be made through the direct allocation of the grant funds and indirect management of the British Council, EBRD and UN Development Program.
The budget of the program equals almost 38.1 million Euros.
The agreement on the financing of the program 'Support of reforms on the development of supremacy of law in Ukraine' is within the signing of the second document. The European Commission will finance the number of the measures on the reforming of the legislative system of Ukraine.
Also, the support of the court reform is included in this document. Particularly, the system of justice, implementation of the court decision, improvement of access to the system of justice, state registers and implementation of the sanctions will be supported. Also, the funds will be provided for the support of the law enforcement system reforms with the emphasis on the support of the National Police of Ukraine.
The budget of the program equals 52.5 million Euros.
