European Union has submitted a report on the assessment of Ukraine's implementation of the association agreement. The relevant document is available on the website of the European Commission.

“The Association Agreement continues to bring the European Union and Ukraine closer together. Thanks to this agreement, the European Union has become Ukraine's main trading partner, and since the EU introduced visa-free travel to the European Union for Ukrainian citizens two years ago, they have made over three million visits”, said the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell. “That Ukraine is undertaking such substantial and important reforms at the same time as its independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty are being challenged is all the more impressive. Ukraine can continue to count on the EU's support,” the statement says.

The report examines Ukraine’s fulfillment of its obligations under the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in the context of the revised European Neighborhood Policy.

The document positively assesses the launch of the work of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, the adoption of legislation on the criminalization of illicit enrichment. European officials also note the growth of trade between Ukraine and the EU, continued economic growth and stabilization of the banking sector. Attention is drawn to the beginning of the work of Energy Efficiency Fund, created with EU money (104 million euros), the positive results of economic and industry reforms, such as the adoption of the law on budget, customs, market deregulation, public procurement.

Nevertheless, the European Union has a negative attitude to the fact that people implicated in fraud with PrivatBank are still not held accountable, and the return of funds allegedly misappropriated remains incomplete. As for energy, the separation of Naftogaz should be completed by the end of 2019.
