The roaming charges are canceled in the European Union since June 15. It is claimed in the joint statement of Antonio Tajani, the President of the European Parliament, Joseph Muscat, the Prime Minister of Malta and Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Commission.
‘The European Union is about bringing people together and making their lives easier. The end of roaming charges is a true European success story. From now on, citizens who travel within the EU will be able to call, text and connect on their mobile devices at the same price as they pay at home. Eliminating roaming charges is one of the greatest and most tangible successes of the EU’, the message reports.
The cancellation of the roaming charges was worked out during the last 10 years. It is the next step to create the European Digital Single Market that is accessible to all citizens of the EU.
Earlier, Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine reported that Ukraine holds the negotiations with the EU to cancel the roaming charges.
